27 weeks pregnant

Welp, it's the last week of my 2nd trimester...Not too much longer now!!

I got hooked up to a contraction home monitoring machine on Wednesday. Basically, I have to wear the monitor two times a day for one hour each. I plug monitor into a modem that sends directly to Alere Home Health which then translates results to my doctor's office. Yesterday, I knew I was contracting. I contract everyday. But the problem is, I don't know if it changes my cervix. So of course, I had more than 6 (not painful, just crampy) contractions in 25 minutes so they sent me BACK to hospital for "observation". Which to me, is pointless! I already knew I was contracting. But they aren't painful so I'm not concerned but doctors are since I'm only 27 weeks.

Some pregnancy stats:

Weeks: 27.1 :)
Cravings: Hmmm...Cadbury eggs!
Symptoms: Nausea comes and goes, contractions(lots!), just started getting back pain, HEARTburn!
Weight gain: 6 lbs
Facts: Belly button has popped out, no "new" stretch marks(yet!), weigh less than I did at this point with Tynlee(THANKFULLY!!!), on pelvic rest(tell me about it, it STINKS!!!!!!!!!), have to take it WAY easy which is so boring for me and Tynlee!

No more breastfeeding has been tough. But mostly on me. She trys to pull my shirt down every once in a while but I can distract her easily. The girl loves milk, so I'm very content in giving it to her. I am happy I was able to nurse her for 13 months. That's a lot better than a lot of women and I am confident, I did good in that sense. I still have milk actually.....I guess it will just be waiting around for Anistyn! It was such a special time, nursing Tynlee. I'm sad that stage in our life is over. officially. (tear!)

She's walking....everywhere....all the time...she falls a lot but she is definitely very interested in walking to her desired location! She's soo adorable. I have yet to make her 1 year appointment...(bad mom) :) Waiting till after flu season....plus, she's healthy so there's no need RIGHT now.

FINALLY ordered Anistyn's crib bedding...it's beautiful!! :)

Pre-term Labor... :(

Tuesday I went to my ultrasound to check my cervical length and to see the dilation etc. It showed that I was 1.6 cm dilated but doctors have been just saying I'm a ONE. I had contractions from the time I woke up and they were pretty consistant so after my ultrasound, I headed across the street to L&D. I thought I was contracting every 3-4 minutes but the screen showed they were literally back to back. I wasn't feeling all of them and it wasn't really a pain, more of a huge pressure in my pelvis. They first started by checking to see if I was dehydrated which definitely wasn't the case, I'm sorry but if you get dehydrated during pregnancy and it causes contractions, shame on you! Unless it's from morning sickness, that's totally different! I had no bladder infection or anything like that, that would be causing them. They then treated me for preterm labor. Anistyn sounded great on the monitor, heart rate ranging from 139-153 the whole time. They started off by giving me some Niphedipine(to stop contractions). It's also a blood pressure medicine so we were killing two birds with one stone cause my blood pressure has been EXCELLENT since i've been on it. My blood pressure has never been this low, it's perfect actually. But anyways back to the story, it didn't work. So they ended up at the next step which was Terbutaline shots. Oh joy! One shot in one arm then 20 minutes later, another shot in the other arm. The anticipation of a shot is horrible but we all know the poking doesn't even hurt at all. Just when the medicine went in, it kinda burned. It made my heart and Anistyn's heart RACE. It was kinda scary cause I felt like I was kinda hyperventilating. Luckily, my sweet husband was there to calm me and my nurse was super sweet in getting me to relax. I just felt soooo weird. I don't do well with medicine, that's why I don't take it unless totally necessary. I was real shakey and just not myself. The contractions then slowed down to about every 3-5 minutes so they felt comfortable sending me home since I didn't change in dilation and I was effacing at all. Which is SO good!

I have been on the Niphedipine(sp?) since Tuesday evening now. And I'm STILL contracting. They are actually getting a little more crampy and intense than Tuesday, which totally scares me. I have stopped nursing, which I'm sooo sad about, because it was Doctors Orders! They aren't sure if that's the cause of not but apparently not, because they are still coming a lot.

I am currently 26 weeks and 3 days. Feeling great other than contractions. I am told to take it WAY easy but not full bedrest, cause it's never been proven to actually stop labor. I feel helpless. My poor Tynlee. I want to play and chase her and take her on walks so bad. I do the best I can by playing on the ground with her in our "Baracaded Living Room". She is such a good girl. Pretty much walking everywhere! She can even get herself up in a walking position without grabbing onto anything. She just started it yesterday. She loves to read books and just cuddle with me and watch "Yo Gabba Gabba".(weirdo show!) lol.

But all in all, I am thankful. Thankful to be carrying another precious little girl in my belly that hopefully I won't be carrying in my arms till June! But God is truly in control...I trust Him! He brought us through last time, I know He will again. It's HIS plan! I just need to trust Him. I appreciate everyone's prayers and everyone's williningness to help. I can't tell you how many people I've heard are praying for me. What a blessing it is to have these people in my life.

All I know, is we will defininitely be waiting till I'm at least 25 for baby #3. (If God sees it fit) If not, we will feel sooo blessed with our 2 girls!

Thank you for those who have prayed for us! We love you all!!!

Tynlee's 1st Birthday Party

                              HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYNLEE ANNE

We celebrated Tynlee's 1st Birthday party at our church on Saturday February 18th, a day before she actually turned ONE. We spent it with our closest family and friends. We had such a wonderful time and we are so thankful for those who came to share in Tynlee's special day! She loved all the attention and was such a good girl the WHOLE day, despite skipping her afternoon nap ;)

We chose the theme of Tynlee's party to be Bumble Bees. We put individual chalkboards on each table with the gerber daisies that said "BEE joyful, BEE patient, BEE kind, BEE loving, etc." Which we got the idea from the Fruits of the Spirit from Galations 5. We aspire and pray Tynlee will grow up and be a lady who portrays the Fruits of the Spirit. As I've told you before, our number one desire is for our children to know Christ and hopefully fall in love with Him at a young age. We want to raise them in church, raise them knowing God's love for them and His love for His people.

I thought the bumble bee theme was perfect for our little girl's first birthday. Stephen gave a wonderful mini devotional in the beginning telling everyone about this as well as praying for our little girl's life to be a lighthouse for Christ.

We served cupcakes, chocolate and vanilla with delicious buttercream frosting! My sister helped make the cupcakes and she made the frosting! It was AhhMazzeeIng!!! I am so thankful for my mom who spent most of the day Friday and Saturday morning helping me set up and decorate cupcakes. It's so great having a mom who is so involved and so willing to help. I don't know what I would have done without her!!

Tynlee enjoyed opening presents but mostly eating the tissue paper ;) She loved her cake but was definitely acting like a little lady eating it. She would dip her pointer finger in and take a lip. So polite!

It was a beautiful day!

I just can't believe she's ONE!

And the most beautiful ONE year old there ever was :)

Pregnancy Update :)

This was us at 20 weeks :)

Again: IT'S DEFINITELY A GIRL!!!
Anistyn Reese Howard
due June 28th 2012

Well, since I have totally failed to blog this pregnancy besides after our first ultrasound at around 9 weeks, I feel so bad. But like I said, our computer wasn't hooked up so it's not my fault but I still feel extrememly guilty. With Tynlee, I was on top of everything. By now, her room was painted, we had her carseat, etc. I am just now starting to think of the theme for sweet Anistyn's room. I was debating on whether or not putting them in the same room, but I figured it would probably be best to give them their own rooms for now, since we can, and we will still have an office. I think they will both sleep better in seperate rooms while they are little. When they get bigger, of course i'll bunk them together! :)

I am just starting my 24th week today! Every Wednesday is a new week for us! I feel pretty good, sickness wise. I was still pretty sick with Tynlee at this stage, nauseaous a lot. But for the most part, I feel good unless my tummy is empty, but that's an easy fix, right ;)?? I have gained 5 lbs so far. Since I lost 11 in the beginning which I was happy about, I needed to!! I was at my pre preggo weight when I got pregnant which was good but still wanted to lose weight.

Sometimes I forget I'm pregnant :/ because I am so busy with Tynlee. But then I get a huge big KICK from Anistyn and I'm reminded and I can't help but smile. I love being pregnant. Even though I have issues when I am pregnant and it's not an easy road for me, I'd do it 100 times. Okay, maybe 4 or 5 ;)

I am having high blood pressure issues again. I actually have been going through a company called Alere healthcare that sent me a blood pressure monitor, a scale, protein dip sticks that I have to take my BP twice a day, they want to make sure I don't get pre-eclampsia again. I only have a 25% shot but also, they don't want my BP to creep up. The last couple days, it has again. I feel the headache coming on and I just know it's up. I have already been in hospital 3 times. 2 times for high blood pressure and 24 hour urine and once for kidney stones(those were HORRIBLE!!).

At least they are monitoring me closely this time so we are prepared and I am a pro at checking my BP now ;) I go to the doctor often, it seems like every 2 weeks i'm in there. Starting at 28 weeks, I have to get an ultrasound every week to check on Anistyn's growth because high BP can affect their growth. It's like a non-stress test ultrasound. It will be a hectic last couple of months but we can do it!! We gotta get her here safely, NATURALLY and full term!! I want a big fat baby ;)

We are still planning for VBAC which are totally thrilled about. Doctor said I'm a perfect candidate. After my water broke on its on with Tynlee, I was contracting every 2 minutes and VERY hard contractions so they know/think I will do just fine delivering vaginally this time. As long as Anistyn doesn't do what big sister did and put her hands out! :D

We are thrilled about adding to our family so quickly! We can't wait till June!! Life will get even more sweeter! I am so excited to use all of Tynlee's adorable clothes again!

And yes, I am on modified bedrest because of high BP as well as I'm already dilated to 1/2 a cm. cuz I have so many braxton hicks. :/

God is good and I know He is watching over us! He never ceases to amaze me through our trials.

Thankful we have Him on our side :)

Tynlee's ONE!!

On February 19th, Tynlee turned ONE! It was a Sunday so she got to spend the day with a lot of special people at church. We even had potluck that day, which made it EXTRA special!

Time, where did you go? You made my 5 lb. baby grow up WAY too fast!! Literally, DON'T BLINK! Savor, cherish, soak up EVERY second cause the first year flys by! It's crazy to now say, I have a ONE year old! I am proud of myself for keeping up with her baby book, taking lots of pictures of her, etc. but I wish everything didn't happen so fast. I know life after you get married just goes really fast because I've almost been married 4 years already but geez, it really flys by when you become a parent. The days jumble together. Your contantly nursing, changing diapers, chasing them, playing, bath time, naps, and the next day, all over again! It's pure joy though. It really is. Being a mom is even better than I imagined.

Tynlee is starting to look "older". Everyone says how small she is but she is over 20 lbs. Which is 50% for her age. She's bigger than a lot of one year olds at that age. Maybe it's because she doesn't walk yet. Who knows! I guess when it's your own kid you don't notice that they are tiny you just keep wishing the growing up process would slow WAY down.

She doesn't walk yet but she walks around the furniture and is standing up on her own more and more. She's taken 3 steps on her own. I'm not pushing her, she will walk when ready. But boy oh boy, she can sure crawl fast, ecspecially when she hears the bath water!

She sleeps in her crib in her room. She goes down around 8pm and sleeps till 8pm. Occasionally, she will wake up in the middle of the night or around 6am but I just don't get her and she usually falls right back to sleep. We make sure her belly is nice and full before bed so I know she's good for the night. It's so nice having her sleep through the night. I hadn't slept through the night since she was born. I still don't, but close! Now that i'm 6 months pregnant, I'm peeing a lot in the middle of the night and I check on her at once a night.

She eats great! Very healthy girl! She loves spinach, green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, yogurt, every fruit, grilled cheese, sliced up pears, peaches and bananas, cocunut milk and whole milk. She pretty much eats every baby food. We are still working on the "table food" stuff, she isn't really liking the textures of things but that's okay, she will get the hang of it and she eats her veggie baby food so well, i'm not concerned.

She still nurses 3 times a day. Morning, noon, and night and takes 2 bottles of Cocunut Milk or Organic Whole Milk a day. She loves milk and always crys when her bottle is gone!
I'm not planning on weaning her till 2. But she will just be nursing once a day when little sister comes out. Judge what you want, but I feel it's best for her. And I don't care what anyone thinks. lol.

She never ever keeps her socks on during the day. As soon as I put them on, she pulls them off. I only get lucky if I put her in shoes. Her little feet are purple during the day but she doesn't care. But I do!! I wish she would wear them! lol. She overall is a very happy, playful, silly baby. She loves to be tickled, read to, and chased down the hall.

She loves when daddy gets home from work. It melts my heart! She says "DaDa" as soon as the door opens! And she wants him the rest of the night! I just love watching them together!

She loves her doggies. She hears a bark and says "Dog-dog".
She says, Baba, Mama, Dada, Dog-dog, Papa(sometimes!!) and she says Done.
She is starting to be a chatter box even though we can't understand her, she talks back to us all the time.
She loves to point, it's adorable. She blows kisses and waves "Hi" and "Bye Bye".
She is so much fun at this age. Loves to play and ecspecially be outdoors!

I still can't get enough of my angel!
So thankful the Lord saw it fit to bless us with her because she is the best thing in the world! :)

We LOVE you to pieces Tynlee Anne!!!!

Gender Reveal Party

Our gender reveal party was a lot of fun! We decided instead of having a huge party, we would keep it simple and small just inviting our parents and grandparents over. We thought they would enjoy sharing in the special moment with us and being the FIRST ones to know! Not finding out at the ultrasound the day before was sooo hard. We barely got to look at the screen and we were in there for over 15 minutes cause the lady was so sweet, getting tons of pictures. We did get to peek at our little girl in 3D and she looked exactly like Tynlee so it got me wondering "Is SHE another SHE??" haha...

I hurried over to my sweet friend Annalisa's house to drop of the results. I made SURE they sealed the envelope with TAPE so I promise promise PROMISE, I didn't peak! I was SO proud of myself!!
My friend Annalisa made the beautiful cake, she did a great job! And she also did a great job and keeping the secret, giving no hint either way!

What a joy the anticipation was! I barely ate our lunch. I could NOT wait to cut into that cake and see if Tynlee was going to have a little brother or little sister. And sure enough, we weren't super surprised, IT WAS DEFINITELY PINK on the inside, without a doubt ;)

Stephen was excited. I thought he may be a little disappointed since he wanted a boy but now that's it's all set in and he knows how much love he has for little girls, he's VERY happy it's another girl.
I am so excited to give Tynlee a friend for life. They will be 16 months apart, or sooner! I can't wait to have her here and watch them grow up together.

It won't be very long now!!
3 MORE months! :)

More Christmas pictures..

Tynlee's 1st Christmas

Christmas this year was great. We got to spend it in our new house! Tynlee was the perfect age, to semi-enjoy her presents but mostly just the wrapping paper :) We opened our presents Saturday morning since we knew Sunday may be hectic with church and Stephen preaching out of town. Tynlee got some treats in her stocking, puffs, 2 books, a baby doll and also she got a Melissa & Doug shapes toy, a cute outfit and a push car(that she finally has gotten the hang of)...it's her favorite thing! Stephen got a Michigan hoodie, cologne, a wallet clip(silver plated Michigan one ;)), a new shirt and tie, as well as some candie! He got me a Kindle Fire which I would NEVER ask for by the way cause I am so not into technology, still don't have an Iphone lol but I LOVE it!! I get internet on it wherever there is WiFi and it's perfect and so handy for me! We can watch Netflix on it, surf the internet, get apps, etc. I LOVE IT!! oh and read, which I wish I did more of!
We had a busy day ahead of us. The night before we had Porter Christmas Eve at my aunt's house and that is always fun since we do "gag gifts" which are ALWAYS interesting. Saturday afternoon we headed to Howard Christmas at Stephen's aunt's house for Ham dinner..yummy! We then went to my sister's house to celebrate Christmas with just my siblings, grandparents and my parents and of course, all the little grandchildren!!! It was SO nice that my brother and his family that now live in Kentucky got to join us!! My mom, once again, hooked EVERYONE up. She goes all out! Let me tell you! Tynlee got probably 15 new adorable outfits, dresses, etc. My mom is really good at finding little things at craft fairs, boutiques etc. that you probably can't find yourself. She puts so much thought into each and every one of us. I know my dad helps a lot too!! We appreciate them so much!! Cause we all know how much I love presents! Sunday morning we headed to be with the Tracy church and Stephen preached both services there. We enjoyed a nice ham dinner between services then headed to see Stephen's parents and sister and future brother in law. We opened our presents and stockings from them! Tynlee got the sweetest jewelry box that sings!!! It's precious!!! I know she will fill it up someday!! Christmas was wonderful. It was great having church
on Christmas morning, I think it should be like that every year because we all know, He is the reason for the season afterall. What a blessing it was being able to spend Christmas with most all our loved ones and cherish our Savior's birth.
